Butler University is excited to welcome an exceptional group of first-year students this coming fall. Read on to get to know Peyton Fox, one member of the Class of 2025. 

What were you involved with in high school? 
I was a member of my high school’s chapter of National Honor Society and participated in many different service projects and events. I also was a part of the executive board of the Seekers Diversity Club, which helped plan events, service projects, and discussions about different cultures. Finally, I was the President of the Lincoln Park Chicago Chapter of the Top Teens of America, which is a community service organization run by teens and supervised by Ladies of Distinction, Inc. 

How did you first hear about Butler? 
My brother went to Butler, so I’ve known about it for quite some time. But, I was really interested in it because Butler made me feel welcomed, as if I was already a part of the community. When Butler sent my dog mail, I knew it was the place for me! 

What is your favorite part about Butler?
Butler wants their students to gain experience and succeed in their careers, starting on day one. I’ll be a student in the Lacy School of Business (LSB), and when I came for my visit, I learned that all LSB sophomores start their own business through the Real Business Experience course. I’m so excited to participate in that and help apply my studies to the real world. 

What do you hope to get involved with as a student? 
I hope to get involved in many different programs, groups, and clubs at Butler. I’m a Morton Finney Diversity Scholar, so I’m excited to get involved with that. I also hope to be involved with clubs within LSB, as well as be a part of the Black Student Union. 

What are you most excited about?
I can’t wait to arrive at Butler, meet new people, and experience college life at a Division One school
