Butler University’s annual Bulldog Crawl returns to campus on Friday, June 28. Hosted by the Central Indiana Butler Community, this event offers alumni and friends a chance to visit campus, tour new or recently updated spaces, and enjoy food and beverages from many alumni-owned or operated business partners. The Crawl raises awareness and support for the Butler Tuition Guarantee Program, a full-tuition Butler scholarship awarded to Marion County high school students each year. Since its inception in 2016, the event has raised more than $15,000 for the scholarship program.
“The Bulldog Crawl is one of my favorite alumni activities at Butler,” Bulldog Crawl co-chair Gina Christofaro ʼ07, PharmD ʼ09, says. “It’s a fantastic way to keep alumni linked back to Butler and show off new campus spaces. And we are proud to showcase local— and often Butler alumni-owned—food and drink vendors and raise money for the Butler Tuition Guarantee Program for local high school students. Having been co-chair for these last two years, I have an even greater appreciation for all that this event offers alumni, vendors, and future students.”
This year’s Bulldog Crawl will include tour stops at the Efroymson Diversity Center, Fairbanks Center, Irwin Library, and Midtown Provisions (formerly ResCo Dining). Extensive renovations to Midtown Provisions were completed last summer and will be new to many alumni who recall the former ResCo space. Along with new dining options, the renovation brought a fresh look and feel to the space with updated seating options and a campus mural. The Efroymson Diversity Center was also renovated in 2019 and may have a new look for some visitors who have not seen the space recently.
Each tour stop features food and drink options from partner businesses. This year’s Crawl will include long-time partners Scarlet Lane Brewing Company and Debrand Fine Chocolates Indianapolis. Other returning partners include Julian Coffee Roasters, 317 BBQ, Condado Tacos, Upland Brewing, Guggman Haus Brewing, MJ’s Baking Boutique, and West Fork Whiskey. New partners at this year’s Crawl include Ash & Elm Cider Co. and Half Liter Events.
“The Bulldog Crawl is such a fun and unique way for us to showcase campus to our local Butler community, and it would not be possible without our generous partner businesses,” says Jennie Jones MBA ՚18, Senior Director of Butler Community Engagement. “It’s a great way to experience some amazing local food and beverages while exploring campus.”
Registration for this year’s event is now open here and includes food, beverages, and parking. Space is limited, and attendees are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.
