What were you involved in during high school?
In high school, I took on leadership roles in several student-led organizations focused on community service. One that had a special place in my heart was the Youth Junior Optimist International Club, where I served as an officer starting my sophomore year and became president as a senior. I was passionate about promoting optimism, selflessness, and kindness in our school and community.
How did you first hear about Butler, and what interested you in the University?
I first heard about Butler from their participation in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. As my college search went on, I knew I wanted a place that is away from home and has the classic “college feel” with the fraternity and sorority life, big athletics, and proud school spirit. Butler checked all my boxes—that’s why I chose to come here.
What do you hope to get involved with on campus?
I want to continue helping the community in any way I can and also participate in student government and debate, and I want to try new things and attempt to branch out and discover everything Butler has to offer.
What are you looking forward to most while being a student at Butler?
Fraternity and sorority recruitment! From everything that I have seen and heard, the fraternity and sorority life at Butler is so welcoming and positive, and it’s something I can not wait to be a part of.
What advice would you give to other students starting their college search?
Don’t worry about what your friends are doing, what the school counselors are telling you, or what any outside influence is saying. At the end of the day, you have to find the school that is right for you; it is your future home for the next four years. Follow your heart and whatever it tells you, and know that there is a university out there that is a perfect fit for you!
