What were you involved in during high school?
I was very involved in my church youth group and played basketball through my sophomore year. I also compete in speed cubing tournaments (think Rubik’s cube) and spend a lot of time on my documentary-style YouTube channel dedicated to speed cubing (@stucube).
How did you first hear about Butler, and what made you choose to go here?
I grew up in Indianapolis, so I went to many Butler basketball camps, Creative Writing Camp, and attended Butler basketball games at Hinkle Fieldhouse. I’ve been on campus a lot over the years and have always enjoyed it, so when it came time to choose a school, it became clear that the College of Communication would be a good fit for me.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus?
I plan to participate in CRU and do some club sports. I also hope to use my video editing skills outside the classroom and learn more about broadcast media.
What are you looking forward to most while being a student at Butler?
I will be commuting to campus, but I am looking forward to making friends in my classes, CRU, and other activities—and of course, Butler basketball games.
What advice would you give to other students starting their college search?
Visit both big and small schools. You may have had something in mind when you started the search, but after visiting, your feelings changed. That’s okay…take the risk and go for what really appeals to you. College is the time to grow and change and start building the life and career you want.
