What is your favorite part of being a Butler student?
My favorite thing about being a Butler student is the undying support from everyone on campus, specifically from my professors. They constantly support me in everything I set my mind to and help me get all of the resources I need to reach my goals.
What do you want to do after graduation?
After graduation, I want to get my Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology! My ultimate goal is to work for a hospital to treat individuals with various brain injuries and psychological disorders.
How would your friends describe you?
I think my friends would describe me as hardworking, ambitious, funny, and compassionate.
Have you participated in any volunteer activities or student-led organizations?
I do a lot of work with Butler Ambassadors for Special Olympics, which is a group that partners with Special Olympics Indiana. In my past two years of helping host Polar Plunge on campus, we’ve raised over $130,000, and last year I had the opportunity to be president. I have held a few other leadership positions in various student organizations as well, since being involved at Butler is really important to me.
Which faculty member has inspired you the most?
Dr. Berry, a Psychology professor, inspires me to always pursue my goals, no matter how ambitious they may seem. She is my lab advisor, so we spend quite a bit of time together, and she is one of the smartest and most impressive people I’ve met during my time at Butler. She encourages me to try new things and supports me every step of the way.
What do you like most about your academic career?
I absolutely adore the Psychology department and all the professors, but what I love most is how well they set us up for the future. They encourage us to constantly work hard and do what we love, and then give us the resources to do so. Research quickly became one of my passions when I came to Butler—I’ve been able to assist in a lab every semester, run my own project, and present at conferences all across the country.
What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is Levinson Family Hall in the Sciences Complex, specifically the atrium. I spend so much time in that building for classes and meetings, but I love sitting and catching up with friends, working with classmates, or doing homework in the atrium. The natural light in that building with the large wall of windows is lovely when you’re walking between classes and sitting at one of the tables.
