Why did you choose Butler?
I grew up around Butler alumni who became friends, close family, and mentors. By the time I began my college search, Butler was already at the top of my list. But what made the decision final for me was how kind and helpful the professors and faculty were during the decision-making process. I had the opportunity to connect and network with a large number of Butler representatives who made the decision so easy. From small classes to an outstanding alumni class, this university truly offers the best experience—from pre-enrollment all the way to commencement.

What do you want to do after graduation?
After graduation, I would like to land a sales role at an organization in Indianapolis. Indiana is resource-rich and full of opportunities, and I cannot imagine leaving anytime soon. No matter where I work, I hope to find a role that will provide me with professional and personal fulfillment. At the end of my career, I would love to return to Butler or a school of similar size to teach, like many of the faculty and professors on campus.

What are you involved in on and off campus?
Where I’m most involved is with Collegiate DECA, an organization preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs on more than 210 college campuses. Thanks to the support of our wonderful Butler community, I have been able to represent the University at local, state, and national leadership levels. During my first year, I founded the Butler University Collegiate DECA chapter, which now has over 250 members and is the second-largest chapter in the world. I won the International President title of my division during my sophomore year and served with an Executive Officer Team representing more than 295,000 students. Today, I volunteer with the Indiana High School DECA State Board and serve as the first State President of Indiana Collegiate DECA. Without the support of the faculty advisors we have at Butler, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Butler is a “yes” community—no matter the goals or ambitions you have, someone will be there to support you.

What is your favorite study spot on campus?
My favorite study spot on campus is Dugan Hall. No matter what time of day it is, I can always take inspiration from this building. There are so many rooms and study spaces for us to use, but I often find myself in the McGould Investment Room to work on projects. Plus, having Butler Brew—our student-led coffee shop located in Dugan Hall—helps me fuel up for study or work sessions. My second favorite place to study is Irwin Library, but I enjoy it the most during the winter because it is a warm place on campus when it’s cold and snowy outside.

What part of your academic career are you the most proud of?
Thanks to the partnerships and connections I’ve gained through the Lacy School of Business and Butler, I’ve interned with several wonderful Indianapolis-based companies. From an FDIC-insured online bank to a mining and aggregates company, I’ve been able to learn from multiple industries and explore many career paths. Many organizations hire Butler students because we are truly prepared for life after graduation. My time at Butler has prepared me for my future career in ways no other school could.

How would your friends describe you?
I would say ambitious. I am always looking for the best opportunities to take advantage of, and no matter the organization, class, job, or internship, I approach it with a positive mindset. They would also describe me as involved. During my free time, I am usually working on a project for another organization or opportunity. Being involved means taking advantage of every opportunity possible, and that is something that I have done from my first day on campus all the way to my last year as a student.

What on-campus academic or study resources have you taken advantage of?
During my time on campus, I have found that the most beneficial on-campus academic and study resources have been my professors. Whether it’s office hours to review a homework assignment or exam questions I missed, or having coffee to discuss future career options, Butler faculty have always been my first choice for anything I need help with.
