Butler University is proud to announce the appointment of two exemplary alumni, Delia Askew Harris (’99) and Anthony Murdock II, J.D. (’17), to its Board of Trustees. The appointments were confirmed during the Board’s recent meeting on February 16, 2024. Both Harris and Murdock will start their terms on June 2, 2024, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to the University’s governance.

Delia Askew Harris ’99, graduated from Butler with a degree in Chemistry before earning an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Throughout her career, Harris has been a fervent supporter of diversity and education. She founded the Butler Young Alumni Board and chaired the Black Alumni Association, where she initiated the Black Alumni Association Scholarship. Additionally, she endowed the “Delia Askew Harris Diversity of Science Scholarship” to support African American women in science at Butler. Currently, she is the Senior Manager of Production Strategy & Material at Henkel Corporation, leading operations at one of the company’s largest global manufacturing facilities.

Anthony Murdock II, J.D., ’17, has shown remarkable dedication to community service and entrepreneurship since graduating from Butler University and the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Murdock serves as the Faculty Director of Butler’s Minority-Owned Business Initiative and has established the Moving Gr8ful Scholarship to aid Black male students aspiring to entrepreneurship. A committed member of his local community, Murdock holds positions on several boards, including Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis, and is actively involved in Eastern Star Church and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Both Delia and Anthony embody the spirit of community and continuous involvement that is central to our university’s mission. Their diverse experiences and perspectives are invaluable assets that will undoubtedly contribute to Butler’s continued success.”
