Gina Donahue
Administrative Manager and Executive Assistant, Office of Advancement

Years at Butler: 8

How would you describe what you do at Butler?
In addition to providing support to the Vice President for Advancement and serving as a member of Advancement’s leadership team, I am our liaison with other departments on campus. I work closely with the President’s office, Athletics, and Human Resources. Every day is different, and I enjoy the challenge of working with a wide variety of people and projects.

What is the best part of your job?
I love interacting with students and with so many other departments on campus. I also love working on such a beautiful campus and sharing my days with such great colleagues.

Share one thing that you are most proud of that you have accomplished here?
I am most proud of the renovation of the Advancement suite. We are located in the basement of Jordan Hall, and when I arrived here it was very dated and dark. It is now one of the nicest spots in the building. It’s wonderful to be able to work in such a historic building, but it’s even better now that our space is so much nicer.

What inspires you the most about working at Butler?
I love that the work we do has such a huge impact on the lives of our students.

What is the best advice you can give someone who wants to work at Butler?
Be willing to take advantage of all the great events that happen on campus such as sports, shows, and lectures. The Butler community offers so much. And don’t be afraid to ask questions. The Butler community is very supportive, and you can always find someone willing to help you.
