Where are you interning and what are your day-to-day responsibilities?
I am interning at Eli Lilly & Company located in downtown Indianapolis. My day-to-day responsibilities consist of attending team meetings, meeting 1:1 with headquarters and global employees, and working on my summer project.

How does this internship relate to your major?
I work in Global Marketing in the Cardiometabolic Health (CMH) Business Unit. I am learning how a marketing strategy is created and implemented across the globe. After taking International Marketing and Market Research this past semester, I have felt tremendously prepared and ultimately more confident in this role.

What do you like most about your internship?
The mission and the people. Knowing that the work my team and I are doing can help increase someone’s quality of life is extremely empowering and motivating. Moreover, knowing that Lilly is an organization committed to supporting people globally and improving the Indianapolis community makes me extremely proud and grateful to be a part of it.

Further, the employees at Lilly are extremely welcoming, passionate, and hard-working. I felt extremely supported as a newcomer to the organization. Something that particularly stands out to me is that my team is primarily female. It is very empowering to see a team of women spearheading a valuable company asset.

What project are you particularly proud of?
I am currently creating a playbook outlining a plan for medications in the pre-launch phases. The playbook includes my recommendations on how to best engage Lilly employees working on the brand portfolio in their respective countries. I have spent virtually the entire summer interviewing Lilly employees located in Indianapolis and around the globe.

What are your career goals and how is this internship preparing you?
My internship has helped me uncover a passion for helping people. I enjoy doing work that ultimately improves someone’s quality of life. This internship has given me real-world experience and challenges to tackle, all of which have enhanced my strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Following the completion of my internship, I would love to receive a full-time offer at Eli Lilly & Company.
