What has been the best part about being an Honors Student at Butler?
The best part about being an Honors Student at Butler is the community! I have built so many friendships and connections with my peers and faculty that have made my experience at Butler so enjoyable. Having an established community on campus before even arriving made the transition to college much easier.

Which Honors Program faculty member has inspired you the most and why?
Dr. Etzler, who is now the Honors Faculty Director, is an incredible faculty member. She was my First-Year Seminar professor during my first two semesters at Butler, and she made the transition so much easier. She made class fun and was always helpful and understanding, regardless of the circumstance. Dr. Etzler is the type of person that students look up to as a role model and mentor.

What advice would you give someone who is considering joining Butler’s Honors Program?
If you are considering the Honors Program at Butler, I would say go for it! It is an enriching experience that gives you the opportunity to take unique classes and work with students who have similar interests to you.

How has Butler helped prepare you for your future career or next steps?

As a Pharmacy student, Butler has done an excellent job preparing me for a career in the field. I have gained hands-on experience that will help me be successful in any area of pharmacy. I am looking forward to taking a fully funded trip to Boston over spring break to visit top pharmaceutical industry companies.

What’s the story that you tell friends or family when they ask what Butler is like?

When I came to college, I was looking to take some fun, unique classes to help acclimate myself and hopefully reduce the anxiety I was feeling. In my first semester, I took a class about Stranger Things, which was a blast! I always tell people I know that Butler is a place where you can have fun inside and outside the classroom.
