What is your favorite thing about being a Butler student?
My favorite thing about being a Butler student is the networking connections that Butler offers. The community runs deep at Butler, making it a perfect place to find future career opportunities and life-long friendships. I was halfway across the country on vacation and a family pointed out my Butler t-shirt. They mentioned that their daughter attended Butler, and they also knew someone in the pharmacy field and gave me their contact information. This was just one of the many networking opportunities I have experienced as a Butler student. Not only do these connections occur off campus, but they continue on campus. Professors and departments work hard to provide you with outside internship and career fair opportunities, which allow on-site connection building.

What do you want to do after graduation?
After graduating from Butler with my doctorate in Pharmacy, I am planning to look into residency programs either in clinical pharmacy or veterinary medicine. Then I plan to move to a large city, like Indianapolis, and pursue a career in either pathway!

How would your friends describe you?
My friends at Butler would describe me as outgoing, bubbly, and a friend to everyone. I genuinely enjoy talking to people and strive to meet someone new every day!

What are your favorite things to do on and off campus?
My favorite things to do on campus are taking nature walks along the Central Canal Towpath and using the Pacers Bikeshare with friends! Butler immediately drew me in with its green spaces and “small school, big opportunities” feel. Downtown Indianapolis is only 10-15 minutes away, but it is also a blast exploring the nearby towns. There is so much to do: restaurants, sporting events, and farmers’ markets in the spring and fall. My personal favorite is the Christkindlmarkt that happens every winter in downtown Carmel!

Do you have a favorite hidden gem in Indianapolis, or something you love to do in downtown Indy?
My favorite hidden gems in Indianapolis are all the restaurants. My hometown has the same five fast food restaurants, so being able to try new places is something my friends and I love to do. Fire by the Monon and La Piedad are my two favorite restaurants and are a definite must-try next time you’re in Indianapolis!

What does your ideal day look like?
My ideal day would be a cool, 75-degree fall morning on campus with Starbucks in hand! I would love to get coffee with my friends and sit down to talk before my morning classes. After class, I would go to Butler Brew—the student-led coffee shop in Dugan Hall—for grilled cheese and to catch up on homework. I would go to my afternoon classes, then catch dinner with my friends either on campus or explore a new place around Indianapolis! And then I’d come back to campus for school work and enjoy a movie night with my roommates.

What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the benches outside Starbucks. It is the perfect spot to relax before class with coffee, meet up with old friends, and work on homework! I love being outside, so it is the ideal place to get work done while enjoying the weather.
