What were you involved with during high school? Please provide a few details about your involvement.
I mainly participated in student ambassadors and speech team in high school. As a student ambassador, I would help new students coming into our school get around by walking them to their classes and being a friend to them. As a member of the speech team, I competed in many events at weekly tournaments. My favorite and most recent event I competed in was informative speaking!

How did you first hear about Butler and what interested you in the University?
I first heard about it during my junior year by recommendation from one of my Dad’s co-workers. He had suggested to my Dad that I should look at Butler as I was looking for smaller schools that were not too far from home. When I first researched Butler, I was immediately intrigued. I saw that Butler had a club for the swim team which is something that I had not seen at any other school. I also have many life-threatening food allergies and was quite impressed with how much information Butler had to offer on how they handle them and the procedures that they use in the dining halls.

What is your favorite part about Butler?
Besides Butler Blue, my favorite part about Butler is the sense of community I felt every time I was on campus. I loved how every person I met always had a smile and was ready to answer any questions I had. I also appreciate how everyone has places where they belong, whether that be in a sport, club, or just within a group of friends.

Why did you ultimately decide to choose Butler?
Every time that I visited Butler, I had this feeling that it was the one. I remember the first time we drove onto campus and I just had the biggest smile on my face. I was able to visit campus three times to tour and every time I left, I couldn’t wait to come back. I felt at home which is a feeling that I never really had when visiting other campuses. That feeling was ultimately what made me choose Butler as I felt that it would be the perfect home for the next four years.

What do you hope to get involved with or be a part of at Butler?
I am planning on joining the club swim team and being a part of Greek life.

What are you most excited about?
I am most excited about having a wide variety of classes to choose from. I was lucky enough to go to a high school that had plenty of course choices but Butler offers even more than I could have expected. I am very excited to take plenty of history courses that cover a vast amount of topics that I would love to have a closer look into.
