What were you involved in during high school?
During high school, I had the privilege of actively engaging in different student-led campaigns and activities. At Markham College in Perú, I was very active in the HELIX Program, which focuses on Holistic, Experiential Learning, Leadership, International Citizenship & the X-Factor. One of the most rewarding experiences was volunteering during the weekends for the Chincha House Building Project, where we built houses for families previously living in straw huts. I also participated in the ONE Campaign, which aimed to strengthen the sense of one global community whilst celebrating people’s differences and uniqueness.

How did you first hear about Butler?
I first heard about Butler at a University Fair organized by the Council of International Schools at Markham College in Perú. After doing some research on my own, I soon realized that Butler was the perfect fit for me.

Why did you choose Butler?
I chose Butler because of its perfect balance of small-size classes, top-notch academics, experiential learning, and a caring community. Additionally, Butler’s option to choose from two concentrations within the Kinesiology major will provide me with the working knowledge and skills needed to excel after college.

What do you hope to get involved with on campus?
I look forward to contributing to innovative equity in the Morton-Finney Diversity Scholars Program. I also hope to engage in service-learning, volunteerism, student government associations, and intramural athletics.

What are you looking forward to most while being a student at Butler?
What I am looking forward to most is taking advantage of the incredible professors and resources offered so that I can make a positive impact on the well-being of my community. Additionally, I am excited about making new friends, attending student events, and exploring everything Indianapolis has to offer; from art festivals, sports games, outdoor concerts to world-class museums.
