What were you involved in during high school?
In high school, I was deeply involved in soccer and student council. I played soccer all four years, but a serious knee injury before senior year prevented me from playing and, therefore, led me to become the team manager. I also created content and took photos for the team’s social media, which helped me stay connected to the sport while building media and communication skills. In student council, I helped organize events, support school initiatives, and represent students, which strengthened my leadership and teamwork abilities.

How did you first hear about Butler, and what made you decide to go here?
I was born in Indianapolis. My dad attended Butler for his undergrad, and my mom got her master’s from Butler. My dad also worked at Butler when I was young, so I grew up on campus, hung out with my dad at his office, went to Butler basketball games at Hinkle Fieldhouse, and attended many other sporting events and happenings around campus. When I was eight years old, we moved to Gainesville, Florida, for my dad’s job, and I have lived in Gainesville ever since. We have a lot of family still in the Indianapolis area, so we come to Indy frequently and we always visit campus.

What do you hope to get involved with on campus?
On campus, I hope to get involved with student clubs, intramural sports, fraternity and sorority life, and sports media production because I want to make new friends, stay active, be part of a supportive community, and gain hands-on experience in an area I’m passionate about.

What are you looking forward to most while being a student at Butler?
What I am looking forward to most while being a student at Butler is experiencing college life, meeting new people, and taking classes that interest and challenge me. I’m excited to be part of the campus community, make new friends, and grow both academically and personally.

What advice would you give to other students starting their college search?
My advice to other students starting their college search is to embrace the process—take the time to visit different campuses, attend campus tours, and have genuine conversations with current students. Hearing firsthand about their experiences can give you a better understanding of the campus culture and what life is really like there. As you explore your options, pay attention to how each school makes you feel and what opportunities they offer, both academically and socially. In the end, choose the school where you feel most comfortable and supported, and where you believe you’ll have the best chance to grow, succeed, and make the most of your college experience.
