What were you involved in during high school?
In high school, I was involved in a variety of activities. During my junior and senior year, I served as president of the high school dance club, where I led rehearsals and choreographed performances. During my school’s summer program, I also worked as a dance teacher for children. I was also the Vice President of Boosters, a group focused on building school spirit and helping organize major events at school. On top of that, I was a varsity athlete in both tennis and soccer, which truly gave me first-hand experience with connection and teamwork with the students and school community.

How did you first hear about Butler, and what interested you in the University?
I first heard of Butler through a friend of my mom’s who is very familiar with the top ballet programs in the U.S. After doing some research, I decided to attend Butler’s ballet summer intensive, which is basically why I am here now. After my visit, experiencing what it’s like to live on campus, learning from the Butler Ballet faculty, and getting to know the community was amazing. The professors were incredibly welcoming and encouraging, and I immediately felt at home. It was clear that Butler was the right place for me.

What do you hope to get involved with on campus?
Besides spending all my free time at Lilly Hall, I am super excited to explore the campus life at Butler. I’d love to attend basketball and football games with my friends, and join clubs related to my interests, such as dance, sports, theater, or food and desserts. I want to make the most of my time here at Butler, both in and out of the dance studio.

What are you looking forward to most while being a student at Butler?
I am most excited to perform in front of the Butler community in shows like The Nutcracker and Midwinter. Connecting with people through my passion is something I love, and I hope to share that joy with others at Butler. I’m also really looking forward to making new friends and meeting people from various fields of interest.

What advice would you give to other students starting their college search?
If you’re looking to major in Dance, my biggest advice is to simply start early. Start doing your research during junior year, even if people around you aren’t doing the same, because dance programs often require auditions and prescreens, many of which can happen in the fall. Research as many schools as you can, attend intensives if possible, and visit the campus so you get a firsthand feel. Also know, choosing a school isn’t just about the name or location—it’s about where you think you fit in as a student and as a person.
