Intended Major: Nursing

What were you involved in during high school?
I was involved in track for three years and participated in many clubs, including Environmental Action Club, Bring Change to Mind Club, and National, Spanish, and Science Honors Society. Also, I volunteered at school events and participated in many opportunities to support my community and teams. All of these clubs and events have influenced my life and shaped me into the person I am today.

How did you first hear about Butler, and what interested you in the University?
When I was searching for schools, I always had Butler in mind because I didn’t want to live too far from home. So, when I first visited the University, I fell in love with the campus and the people there because the campus was stunning, and the environment felt like such a close-knit family and community. I also love the small class sizes since I will be able to connect with my professors. The thought of joining clubs, meeting new people, and overall just having a great time sealed the deal for me!

Why did you choose Butler?
After I visited Butler for the first time, I knew it was the one. The environment, people, and community helped me realize that Butler is where I want to begin my next chapter. And when the Nursing program was mentioned, I was so excited because I have wanted to become a nurse since I was a little girl.

What do you hope to get involved in on campus?
I hope to get involved with all the fun and interesting clubs Butler offers. I also want to participate in fun activities or events that are promoted around the campus, and I want to enjoy my time at Butler with my friends.

What inspired you to study Nursing? Why did you choose Butler’s Nursing program specifically?
Nursing has always been a strong passion in my life while growing up. When I was younger I was diagnosed with a severe illness, so it was hard for me to live my life while also being sick in the hospital. I will never forget how the nurses gifted me a Barbie or just played with me in my room. And now that I am fully healed, I will never forget those days. I want to make sure every child is happy even during tough times. I chose Butler’s nursing program because I already love and enjoy the campus and community, and I knew this program will welcome me with open arms. I am grateful to be a part of this amazing opportunity while starting a new journey.

What are you looking forward to most as a Nursing student?
I am looking forward to meeting new people and joining the Nursing program. Being a Nursing student has always been a dream of mine since childhood, and I am so excited to see what the future has in store for me at Butler University!
