What were you involved in during high school?

How did you first hear about Butler, and what made you choose to go here?in
I first heard about Butler during my junior year of high school because the Lilly Scholars at my school both decided to attend Butler. My interaction with the faculty at Butler is what helped me realize I wanted to go to Butler as a Lilly Scholar, too. I’ll always remember one of the first things Amy Barnes told me during my visit at Jordan College of the Arts: “You want to do so much, but if I can do anything, I’ll try my absolute hardest to not say no to you.”
What do you hope to get involved in on campus?
I hope to be a part of the wind ensemble at Butler as well as other ensembles and bands, and someday I would like to try my hand at theatre.
What are you looking forward to most while being a student at Butler?
I’m looking forward to meeting other students at Butler and making many new connections! I’m also looking forward to my Honors First-Year Seminar. Many current Butler students I’ve talked to say their First-Year Seminar was their favorite memory from their first year at Butler, so I’m excited to experience it for myself.
What advice would you give to other students starting their college search?
I’d tell other students to get out there and visit the colleges they are considering, or may not even be considering! You never know if a college you’re not considering has a better feel for you as a student, and the decision is all about where you feel the biggest sense of belonging. It’s also important to talk to current students and get their unique perspectives when considering a college.
