Where are you interning and what are your responsibilities? 
I am a graphic designer for Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) and IndyCar, designing specifically for social/digital projects.

How does this experience relate to your major?
My classes in the sports media program helped me realize my passion for content creation as well as my position with the Butler basketball team. This internship will help me expand on my sports design skills.

What do you like most about your internship?
I like seeing my work in action—logging into Twitter and seeing my posts in my feed. I also like how close IMS is to Butler as it has allowed me to balance this internship with my classes. 

What has surprised you the most about this experience?
Running into other Dawgs on the job is very common. As soon as we find out about our common Butler roots, a “Go Dawgs” is immediately exchanged. 

What advice would you give another student who may be looking for an internship?
Network, network, network. You cannot network enough. Talk to your professors, talk to your friends’ parents, talk to your parents’ friends, talk to that neighbor at a graduation party, talk to anyone and everyone—you never know who knows someone that has an internship you’re going to love.
