The 2024 Black History Month theme is “African American and the Arts.” Jordan College of the Arts’ Associate Professor of Dance, Ramon Flowers, is most proud of the Social Justice and Diversity (SJD) course he developed. He encourages students to use their voices and become the change they’d like to see.

2017 alumnus Matthew Griffin says his Butler education gave him the skills to dance at a professional level plus helped him develop the time management and interpersonal skills needed to work in a ballet company.

This 2014 alumna credits her exposure to full- and small-scale dance productions, plus opportunities to network, with her success as a freelancer and costume designer and builder in New York City.
