Randall (Nored) Ojeda, MS ’18 (he/him/his) will serve as Director of Butler University’s Efroymson Diversity Center. Ojeda comes to Butler from Children’s Bureau, Inc., where he most recently served as Vice President of Residential Services. Ojeda will begin his new role with Butler October 18, 2021. 

As Director of the Efroymson Diversity Center, Ojeda will contribute to the University’s strategic goal of creating an intentionally diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning and working environment. He will provide leadership for the Efroymson Diversity Center and ensure it is a visible, accessible, intentionally inclusive, intersectional, supportive, and welcoming campus resource that contributes to student belonging and success. Ojeda will also be responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based strategies to support the retention and graduation of students from marginalized and underrepresented backgrounds and identities.

“I am excited to be returning to Butler, as I know the University’s rich history and commitment to inclusion,” Ojeda says. “I am passionate about leading with equitable practices, and look forward to investing in students and their journeys throughout their years on campus.”

Ojeda earned his M.S. in School Counseling from Butler University, and a B.S. in Child & Family Studies from Carson-Newman University. He is also a certified trainer in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. While at Carson-Newman, Ojeda was heavily involved throughout Student Affairs and was selected as “Student Leader of the Year.” 

“The Efroymson Diversity Center is of central importance to our efforts to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion on Butler’s campus, driving opportunities to support our students’ learning, engagement, and belonging,” Dr. Frank E. Ross, Vice President for Student Affairs, says. “We are thrilled that Randall will be returning to Butler and working with our students in this key leadership role.”

Ojeda is originally from Homewood, Alabama, and currently resides in Indianapolis with his husband, Gabriel Ojeda. His brother, Ronald Nored ’12, played basketball at Butler and is currently on the Indiana Pacers coaching staff.
