For the third consecutive year, Butler University President James Danko has been recognized as one of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Indiana 250 honorees. This prestigious list celebrates the state’s most influential leaders. This honor reflects President Danko’s enduring commitment to innovation in higher education and his transformative leadership at Butler University.
Since taking office as the University’s 21st president in 2011, President Danko has spearheaded significant advancements in the University’s infrastructure, academic programs, and community engagement. His strategic vision has fostered a culture of excellence and innovation, greatly enriching the student experience.
Under President Danko’s leadership, Butler University has achieved remarkable milestones. Reflecting on his recognition, President Danko expressed his gratitude, stating, “Being named among the IBJ’s Indiana 250 is a tremendous honor, and I am deeply grateful for the recognition. This accolade is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated faculty, staff, and students who continuously strive for excellence. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for Butler University and our community.”
President Danko’s innovative spirit extends beyond academic infrastructure. The Founder’s College initiative, set to open in August 2025, exemplifies his commitment to college affordability and inclusivity. This program will enable students from historically underserved backgrounds to earn an associate’s degree with minimal financial burden, with a pathway to pursue a Butler bachelor’s degree for approximately $10,000.
The Butler+ Professional Education Program, another significant initiative launched under his leadership, addresses the evolving needs of today’s workforce. This program offers tailored education solutions designed to support career continuity and advancement, fostering a powerful professional network at local, regional, and national levels.
