Name: Pilar Adams
Hometown: Columbus, Ohio
Intended Major: Elementary Education

Butler University is excited to welcome an exceptional group of first-year students this coming fall. Read on to get to know Pilar Adams, one member of the Class of 2025.

What were you involved with during high school?
In high school, I volunteered as a teacher’s assistant for my third grade teacher and also worked as a nanny for two different families. These experiences helped me determine that I want to study Elementary Education in college.

What initially piqued your interest in Butler?
I originally found Butler on a college search website. My parents were interested in smaller schools, but I knew that I wanted to go somewhere a bit bigger, but not somewhere as large as a lot of the public universities. Butler was a perfect size for me because it fit right in the middle.

What is your favorite part about Butler?
I love the size of the campus and how it’s not too close, but also not too far from my hometown in Ohio. I have also been really impressed by the College of Education and all of the buildings on campus.

What do you hope to get involved with on campus?
There are so many options to get involved at Butler, and I know I don’t know about all of them yet. I will definitely do research once I’m on campus to find out more about what to get involved with.

What are you most excited about?
I’ve never lived anywhere else outside of my hometown, so I’m excited to experience a new place. I also am looking forward to being more independent and living on my own for the first time.
