What’s the best thing about being a Bulldog?
The best thing about being a Bulldog is the community and culture. Everywhere you look, something is going on across campus. There are plenty of things to do, from Greek life to student organizations. It’s so easy to make friends and join clubs you are excited about. I have found that this community has given me so much within my first two years on campus.
What’s your favorite student activity?
My favorite student activity is the organization that I founded here on campus. During the third week of my first year, I founded Butler University Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA). It is a business organization open to all majors and is known for its competitive events program and professional development opportunities. As the organization’s president, we have grown to over 100 members and will continue our growth over the next several years. This opportunity has led to some fantastic things for our members this year, including the chance to compete internationally in April.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus has to be Dugan Hall. As a business major, I may be a little biased, but everyone can use this building! I love the natural light and the terrace where I can get some sun on warm days. Dugan Hall has a coffee shop where I can stop before and after class for a quick bite. It is by far the best coffee on campus. I love just how grand Dugan looks from both the inside and out.
Which faculty member has inspired you the most and why?
I couldn’t possibly give this spot to just one faculty member, so I must pick two. Professors Mark Donner and Nick Smarrelli in the Lacy School of Business have had a profound impact on my education and goals for the future. They are both excellent advisors for the Butler DECA chapter and have played instrumental roles in our organization’s success thus far. They are the perfect examples of what happens when you live the Butler Way daily.
What do you want to do upon graduation?
I have always been fascinated by the food and aviation industry. To join a marketing team in one of these two industries would be amazing. I plan to stay in the Indianapolis area for some time as I continue preparing for my future and to be able to watch Butler basketball in Hinkle, of course!
Why were you interested in the ambassador program?
I have gotten so much out of the student experience at Butler, and the University has become my home away from home. I have met so many amazing people because of it. Being a Bulldog means the world to me, and I look forward to working with my other ambassador teammates to show off this wonderful place to people around the world.
What kind of content are you most excited to make?
I am excited to show off the day in the life of a Butler student. I am involved in more than seven organizations, committees, or chapters, and I will bring a well-rounded approach to being an ambassador team member. I am also excited to produce content showing how much Butler can change your life throughout your time here. It’s an amazing home with amazing people.
