What were you involved with during high school?
In high school, I was involved with performing arts. I would compete in speech tournaments as well as do backstage for the theater department and travel for thespian shows. I competed in film competitions for our thespian troupe as well. I also played sports with travel teams and was involved with a student teaching program since I knew that I wanted to be a teacher.
How did you first hear about Butler?
I first heard about Butler when I was about 10 years old when my sister’s boyfriend at the time went there. I idolized him and thought that he was the most interesting person in the world. My interest in Butler grew because of how much pride he had going to the school. I also had an aunt who went there, who had nothing but great things to say about it. A distant relative in our family was also a professor at the school.
Why did you choose Butler?
I chose Butler because I realized it would be the best school for me to help assist me in my goals. Butler provides many opportunities for student teaching, as well as limitless choices to study abroad. I also love how involved students are with sports and how big the school pride is. I really wanted to be a part of a school that had spirit.
What do you hope to get involved with on campus?
I hope to join some clubs at Butler. I’m not entirely sure yet, but I know I want to do something creative where I can meet new people. As someone who has to commute from home to school, it is difficult to get involved, but I want to make it a goal of mine to do that.
What are you most excited about?
I’m most excited about the school spirit as well as making relationships that will last a lifetime. I know that the professors at Butler are going to do everything they can to assist me in achieving my dreams. I’m very excited to make friends at Butler who are like-minded.
