Incoming first-year student Patrick Doorhy shares his excitement for Butler’s theater and art programs.

At Butler, we believe that experience is foundational to learning. As a media intern at Medxcel, Samantha Pumridge ’25 is applying the skills learned in her strategic communication courses to the “real world,” preparing her for a career in digital marketing.

During his time at Butler, Arie Likham felt welcomed and supported by every person he met. Feeling confident and prepared for graduate-level work, Arie will continue his education at the University of Pittsburgh.

As a Sports Media major, Jia Skrudland ’26 enjoys having behind-the-scenes looks of game days interning with the professional ice hockey team, Indy Fuel. As the Game Operations Intern, she helps ensure game and fan engagement activities run smoothly.

Butler University gave Katie Freeman ’22 a newfound confidence, encouraging her to carve her own path. Becoming a business owner had never crossed her mind, but upon graduation, she co-founded Indigo Jacks, a marketing and communications company.

Turning his passion for videography into a career, Thulani Smith ’20 now works as the Lead Video Editor at Borschoff. He thanks Butler for encouraging his curiosity and allowing him to create freely.

Spencer Jaenichen ’19 says Butler’s collaborative classroom environment prepared him to continue his education at the University of Illinois College of Law. Now working as a Litigation Associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, he knows how to efficiently work on a team, welcoming others’ thoughts and advice.

After graduating from Butler, Linda Calvin ’01 was promoted into digital leadership positions at former employer Dow Chemical. Now, as the Chief Impact Officer at Reboot Representation, Linda works to double the number of Black, Latina, and Native American women graduating with computing degrees by 2025.

Since he was young, Patrick Dowell ’24 hoped his future career would involve hands-on, creative work. Now interning for Phelps Creative House, he works on post-production and graphic design projects, even traveling with the team for video shoots.

Micah Horne ’24 is a proud and creative CCOM student majoring in Strategic Communications. She encourages her fellow Bulldogs to take advantage of Butler’s opportunities.

Grace Nielsen ’27 says the best thing about being a Bulldog is the endless support from the Butler community. As a part of the dance team, she loves attending sporting events and showing her Bulldog pride.

Payton Field ’23 says Butler’s internship opportunities and Arts Administration courses helped prepare her for her career at the Cincinnati Ballet. As a Donor Relations Manager, she is fortunate to share her excitement and passion for the arts with donors and patrons.
